Rock & Roll Music Camps at School of Rock Princeton

Camp Experience

Half-day Rookies Camps are also available for ages 6 to 7, introducing younger children to rhythm, teamwork, and creativity in a hands-on setting that builds curiosity and confidence. While in our themed camps, campers are grouped by age and experience, so every student feels challenged and supported. One group typically includes younger musicians around ages 8 to 12 who are discovering their sound and learning to play in a band. The other group includes teens ages 13 to 18 who are ready to strengthen their skills, collaborate with peers, and develop stage presence.

Both groups include beginners through advanced players, with lessons tailored to each camper’s comfort level. Each camper receives a mix of group rehearsals and individual instruction on their chosen instrument. Our professional instructors guide students through lessons in guitar, bass, drums, keys, or vocals, helping them progress at their own pace. The week ends with a combined live show where all campers perform together on stage for family and friends.

During camp week, students will
• Learn new techniques on guitar, bass, drums, keys, and vocals
• Take daily lessons with professional instructors
• Form bands and collaborate with peers
• Explore songs from influential artists and genres
• Rehearse daily to prepare for a live performance
• Perform for family and friends at the end of the week

Why Families Choose School of Rock Princeton

For more than 20 years, School of Rock Princeton has been the creative home for young musicians across Mercer County. Families from Lawrence, Princeton, Pennington, Hopewell, and West Windsor join our camps each summer to learn, perform, and grow through music.

Our programs help kids build confidence, creativity, and leadership through live performance and collaboration. Students gain real-world skills in communication, teamwork, and accountability — the same qualities that help them thrive both on stage and in life.

As part of a worldwide School of Rock community, our students connect with musicians across the globe while learning from local instructors who live and perform right here in New Jersey.

School of Rock Princeton is locally owned and operated in Lawrence and deeply rooted in the community. Our mission is to help every student find their voice through music, mentorship, and performance.
